Let's not talk much about Infojobs during the chat. Feels like talking about an ex-girlfriend.
This is probably one of the best lines I've heard this year. But it was not the best part of meeting Nacho.
Most people will probably recognize Nacho González Barros for having created Infojobs. In fact, most people in Spain will have landed job interviews or some positions during their career because of Infojobs, and therefore because of Nacho.
But introducing him as the creator of Infojobs would just not be fair to his impressive record: he's one of the founders of Grupo Intercom, creator of Neurona (sold to Xing), Niumba (sold to TripAdvisor) and Salir.com - among others. And now, he's venturing into a global start-up called MailTrack, that'll give you Whatsapp-like double-checks in your e-mail. So let's introduce Nacho as the CEO of MailTrack!
Meeting Nacho
While I was in San Francisco, I met Pablo Villalba (8fit, ex-Teambox). While we chatted about the scene in Barcelona, he told me "I'm pretty positive 95% of the people don't know who the creator of Infojobs is nor what is he doing right now". And well, I seemed to be among those 95% of people who aren't aware of Nacho's endeavours. So I committed to find out.
A mutual friend introduced us and we agreed to meet nearby their offices, in Rambla Catalunya."Our offices are a mess right now, let's grab a coffee downstairs". Nacho seemed to want to break away from the daily grind, looking for some fresh air. It's his first time creating a global company and he's deeply involved with most of the tasks at MailTrack. Actually, it's kind of surprising that a man of his success had only covered the Spanish speaking market so many times without having to look any further.
This time, with MailTrack, they aim at the global market. And for that, he's recruiting the best people in town.
We chatted for over an hour about MailTrack and his future plans, what he needs in order to grow the company and what does he have in store for all of us. All of this will be covered during Wednesday's event, so you will have to come to find out!
The event
This is going to be our biggest event to date: we sold 60% of the tickets almost two weeks before the event, while we normally do it in the days prior to the event. We're aiming at a 100+ attendance.
For the first hour, we will be hosting our lovely Dot Lung and her (in)famous Social Media Trainwrecks to comment on start-ups and their Social Media strategy. Be sure to come with truckloads of questions and rock'n'roll their hashtag: #trainwrx
Then, as usual, we will welcome our guest speaker and enjoy a fireside chat with Nacho González Barros, one of the most influential serial entrepreneurs in Spain.
You don't want to miss this event. Don't say we didn't tell ya!
Keep grinding!
