Johannesburg- Wednesday, June 18th Startup Grind, the international startup community for entrepreneurs held its first event in Johannesburg South Africa. The event was held at the home of Startup Grind Johannesburg, JoziHub; which is much laundered for providing resource support and a platform for tech start-ups in and around Johannesburg.The first fireside style chat was with founder and Managing Director of Open-Technik; Freddy Mahhumane. The inaugural event commenced with an hour of mingling, networking with guests and other key stakeholders. The second hour was an informal interview with Freddy Mahhumane. Questions varied from general entrepreneurial discussions to more focused discussions about the tech-space in and around Southern Africa.
Regardless of the questions being both complex and direct, Mahhumane was quick on his feet and he easily adjusted his message and established positive repertoire with the audience. Mahhumane was pretty inspirational and much relatable when sharing his early professional and personal struggles that were motivational in his desire to succeed.Mahhumane’s positive attitude and chutzpah energy resonated through and through with the audience which was largely made out of the local startup ecosystem. His passion for the tech-space was not only communicated but also devoured by the audience. More importantly, the audience could draw on Mahhumane’s passion and moved them to take a stronger stance in the local tech community.
Mahhumane’s natural ability to empathize with the audiences’ needs and curiosity about the tech-space was also a key resource that aided in ensuring that the evening was a success.
The fireside chat concluded with Mahhumane sharing some great ideas and developments in the tech-space and about Open-Technik’s role in that future.
