Startup Grind Launches in Mérida, Mexico!

Since 2015, Merida has had great impact on entrepreneurs. With much of the population aged 14-30, the creativity and ambition of youth have made the Mexican city a growing hub for founders.

Three key players are unified to make this startup revolution happen: businesses, the government, and local entrepreneurs. The ecosystem is vibrant enough to promote good economic development on the state and local business level, and prevents massive talent drain to other cities in Latin America.

Ready to join us? Visit the Merida page and follow our monthly talks there, or catch videos of our future talks as full recordings.

The Life of a Local Founder

Digging into the local entrepreneur's lifestyle, one will find coworking spaces and scholarships to support young or new founders. The government helps founders with the Startup Yucatan program, which educates and supports new company creation. The region also offers accelerator programs and funding sources which have taken residence in the city under the banner of Startup Mexico.

Companies Big & Small

A few of our Yucatecans -- as people of the region are called -- work at companies recognized nationally like Last Room and Conekta. On the other hand, we are home to traditional businesswomen such as Lic. Gabriela Cejudo CEO of NICXA group, acting as Franchising Leader to Southeast Mexico. She is considered to be one of Mexico's 100 most powerful women by CNN, and has succeeded in starting her own business despite all adversities.

And Now, Startup Grind Merida

Startup Grind is the perfect fit for our growing startup community, bridging the gap between success and ambition with a community to share stories of local wins, a place to find and increase talent for current entrepreneurs, and to provide knowledge of how to do the impossible for new founders.

Merida has the potential and the tools to grow -- but more importantly, we have the people to get ahead and position Mexico on the international level. We'll be bringing monthly interviews to local founders, community builders, and investors -- every month, for everyone. We'd love for you to be part of this experience.
