Startup Grind Princeton launches!

princetonToday it is our pleasure to announce that Startup Grind - the global startup community designed to educate, inspire, and connect entrepreneurs - is coming to Princeton, NJ. This is an exciting development not only for Princeton entrepreneurs, but also those across New Jersey.

Of course, entrepreneurship in New Jersey is not a new development. With a long history of leading innovators and corporations, including Thomas Edison and Bell Laboratories, technology originating in Princeton has shaped the world.

Moreover, Princeton finds itself in the midst of an entrepreneurial resurgence. In 2011, Tigerlabs’ entrepreneurship center was founded in Princeton, initiating our own “Princeton Thesis” focused on bringing together four cornerstones for entrepreneurship in our community: a venue to serve as a centralized workspace and entrepreneurship focal point, mentors and a pay it forward mentality, recycled capital reinvesting in Princeton, and resources including workshops and events to galvanize and foster growth in the community. Startup Grind is a logical part of solidifying our Princeton Thesis.

In addition, Princeton University, the top undergraduate institution in the United States, provides dynamic next generation entrepreneurs, who bring an amazing breadth of talent and ideas.

Thanks to this burgeoning entrepreneurial community, great companies including Artsy, Branch, AppNexus, LevelUp, TerraCycle, Rent the Runway, and Princeton Power Systems can trace their roots to time in Princeton. Entrepreneurship in Princeton and across New Jersey has never been stronger and more united.

Startup Grind, founded in Palo Alto, California, is building a connected network of vibrant startup communities to help fuel innovation, economic growth and prosperity at the local level. Given the storied history of entrepreneurship in New Jersey, it was only a matter of time before Princeton became a part of this great wave.

Join us for our first Princeton Startup Grind event on Thursday, January 22nd 2015, as we host Robert Levitan and kick off our participation in this global movement. Events will be held at Tigerlabs.
