It has been a truly phenomenal year for Startup Grind here in Scotland, with highlights including:
Startup Grind now in over 160 cities and 65 countries;
For Startup Grind Scotland, we hosted 13 events featuring 13 leading entrepreneurs. We plan on hosting at least 30 events this year;
Our expansion into Glasgow (September 2014) and our expansion into Aberdeen (March 2015) sees us bring the total number of Chapters in Scotland to 3 within 14 months;
Confirmed guest speakers in 2015 for our Glasgow Chapter include Jim McColl OBE (Clyde Blowers Capital) and Marie Macklin CBE (The Klin Group);
LINC Scotland coming on-board as a National Sponsor, provides additional funding to help our growth and also an important direct link to angel investors in Scotland.

Lisa Thomson CEO of Purpose HR, establishes HR functions and people management and development frameworks within high-growth, entrepreneurial technology companies. She is an alumni of the Entrepreneurial Scotland Saltire Fellowship programme, a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development and a qualified Executive business coach.
Lisa’s early career professional experience included working in a global semiconductor engineering business post-IPO, a family-owned global helpdesk software technology company with 250 staff, and supporting the growth and organisational development of a healthcare technology and services company from inception to post-investment commercialisation. She has gained an in depth understanding of the HR, leadership and organisational development challenges of growing and scaling a commercial business and the people related aspects of investor readiness and due diligence processes. Her current clients include high growth startups within the Archangels, ParEquity and SEP investment portfolios including Aridhia Informatics, Calcivis, PowerPhotonic, CogBooks and Greengage Lighting. She is also a contributing writer for Young Company Finance magazine and co-Director for Startup Grind Scotland
