In 2005 three fellow students teamed up to compete in the Stockholm School of Economics' annual business idea competition. The idea, on how to make e-commerce more easy and secure, was in the finals turned down by Sweden's greatest investors and businessmen but the team kept their dream and started the company anyway. 8 years later the company has more than 800 employees and a yearly turnover of SEK 1.2 billion.



Niklas Adalberth is co-founder and deputy CEO of Klarna. Born the same year as CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski, Niklas has a master’s degree in international business from the Stockholm School of Economics. He also has entrepreneurial experience within the IT sector.


Niklas being a childhood friend of Sebastian, Klarna is not the first adventure they have embarked on together. Before founding Klarna they traveled around the world without flying and after 143 days on the road under harsh conditions they were confident that their companionship could survive everything...
