On March 21st, Startup Grind LA was proud to host Ed Ulbrich, CEO of Digital Domain. Ed executive produced the Academy award-winning visual effects for “Titanic” and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” as well as for “G.I. Joe- Retaliation,” “Tron: Legacy” and “Fight Club;” music videos for the Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson and others artists, 500+ commercials and the computer-generated likeness of the late rap star Tupac Shakur that was featured at Coachella.

As one of the foremost creative minds in the visual effects industry, Ed and Digital Domain are changing the way that industry does business. In his talk, Ed explained how with the upcoming "Ender's Game" film adaptation, Digital Domain are co-producing the film, which has dramatic implications for the future of the visual effects industry.

Ed also spoke about his experiences working with James Cameron, his philosophies on inspiring creativity in your company, and the need for constant innovation in order to survive in today's digital marketplace. Unfortunately, we were instructed not to record this event, in order to ensure that Ed was able to be as candid as possible. All that means is that you should have been there! At Startup Grind, you never know what amazing things will be revealed, so the best way to be sure you don't miss it is to make sure you're there!
