On a day where the whole world finds out you're worth $25+ Billion, you probably have the right to kick up your feet, go for a long walk in Palo Alto, or laugh about how pissed the Winklevoss twins are right now. But honestly it is an amazing day and the IPO day will be the most important tech day of 2012. Totally appropriate that Mark Zuckerberg posted this picture on his Facebook account today that reminds him and every founder what is the most important thing they need to do: Stay Focused & Keep Shipping.
The most remarkable thing to me about Mark is the focus he kept through all the early offers to buy his company. Whether it was Viacom's CEO who flew him many times on his private jet and tried to woo him month after month, or Yahoo offering several billion dollars at a time when the valuation seemed crazy. Even the famed Peter Thiel once said that if the decision to sell to Yahoo! had gone to a vote with the Board it would have been sold. But because Mark controlled it he never flinched even when everyone around him did.
He made and lost friends along the way, getting rid of anyone who lost his vision for the site. But his vision has always been the same. Impressive example.
