Energy & Blockchain: The Trust Layer Behind the Green Transition

As Europe accelerates toward a decarbonized future, two industries surrounded by hype, fear, and misunderstanding are quietly becoming deeply interconnected: energy and blockchain.

Join us for a practical and thought-provoking fireside chat exploring how blockchain infrastructure, tokenization, and digital trust systems may reshape the future of energy markets, carbon accounting, renewable certification, and decentralized energy systems. From nuclear power and district heating to Ethereum, tokenized energy assets, and carbon markets, this session will bridge two worlds that are increasingly impossible to separate.

Rather than focusing on speculation or buzzwords, the discussion will demystify the technologies behind the headlines and explore real-world use cases already influencing regulation, infrastructure, and energy policy across Europe.

Topics include:

* Why blockchain may become essential for renewable energy transparency

* The future of tokenized carbon and energy markets

* Smart grids, prosumers, and decentralized energy coordination

* The role of trust, regulation, and digital settlement layers

* Why both nuclear energy and blockchain suffer from public misconceptions

* How laws and market infrastructure are being written right now in Europe

The conversation will be moderated by Ahmad Piraiee, entrepreneur, startup ecosystem builder, Director of Startup Grind Warsaw, Venture Café Ambassador, and moderator focused on the intersection of technology, policy, and emerging markets.

Panelists:

* Sebastian Knysz — energy sector expert with experience spanning Veolia, power plants, Warsaw’s heating infrastructure, renewable energy systems, and nuclear energy strategy.

* Krzysztof Urbański — board member of the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance and contributor to blockchain infrastructure, tokenization, and digital settlement systems within the Ethereum ecosystem.

This session is part of the Thursday Gathering in collaboration with Venture Café Warsaw and La French Tech Warsaw.
