Thursday July 16 | 4:30 - 6:00 PM | Graffiti Market - Canvas Room, Kitchener
Dr. Brandon DeHart (Manager, Waterloo RoboHub) has spent over 20 years building and working with robots. For the last decade, his focus has been on human-centric robotics, including physical AI, humanoids and assistive devices, and the trust and acceptance required to deploy robots in our daily lives.
Brandon runs the University of Waterloo's RoboHub, where he connects researchers, students, and startups (problem-solvers) with companies and governments (problem-havers) to turn their robotics and automation ideas into viable commercial products.
He also works with the Open Roboethics Institute, the Urban Robotics Foundation, IEEE, and others on the safety standards, benchmarks, and ethical frameworks required to deploy robots into the real world.
So we'll talk about
How the companies he advises build their robots into a product people will live and work alongside.
What commercial problems his partner companies are facing, now and over the next decade.
Why getting researchers, founders and experienced operators in the same room to solve these challenges together is incredibly powerful.
Join us for a 30 minute fireside chat followed by an open audience AMA where Brandon looks forward to answering any and all of your questions.
Staying after? Join us for The Afterparty from 6 to 7 PM. Grab your spot here: https://www.startupgrind.com/events/details/startup-grind-kitchener-waterloo-presents-the-afterparty/
Problem-havers on stage. Problem-solvers in the room. Solve the grind.
