About this event

Startup Grind, both the company and the people we represent -- our employees, startups, Chapter Directors, sponsors, speakers, attendees -- must hold themselves to the highest standards as members of the Startup Grind community.

We have a zero tolerance policy for racism, and perpetuating or endorsing racism are grounds for immediate dismissal. Anyone found not “standing up” against racism may also be found to be in violation of the Code of Conduct in certain circumstances. Stand up and speak up.

Derek, together with the DEI Committee, will be hosting a call on June 16th to talk about racism and its global impact within the Startup Grind community. Join the internal conversation with fellow Directors

Please review our updated Code of Conduct here, as well as read this message from Derek.

Rules of Engagement:

1. All participants must treat each other with respect. Please be courteous as we each voice our thoughts and opinions. The subject matters we discuss are going to be very near and dear to each of us, some more than others. Therefore, we must be respectful of each other's feelings and treat each other accordingly.

2. This is not intended to push any specific political platform or agenda. We recognize that as a global organization these discussions must be navigated through the lens of humanity, not politics or government. Thus, the promotion of political propaganda will not be allowed.

3. All are welcome to attend and participate regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, creed, religion, country, etc.

4. The privacy of participants will be enforced. Participants will be allowed to speak their mind freely as long as they are being respectful of others. Anything that is said within the confines of the event will not be broadcast or associated with any participant without the participant's expressed consent.

5. WE WILL RESPECT THE OPINIONS AND VIEWPOINTS OF OTHERS! It is okay to disagree but the purpose of this committee will be upheld. If you cannot agree to this, then this may not be the forum for you. This event is about using our diverse backgrounds and experiences to inform the topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion to foster better communication around race and gender issues. DIVERSITY WILL BE UPHELD! Behavior that is opposite of this WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!
