The Hoffman family opened the doors to their first self-service car wash in 1965, and have built a company focused on values - treating customers and employees fairly.
When Ron Slone, President, joined Hoffman 20 years ago, he brought best practices gleaned from his global and national corporate experience as a military broker and at Nissan. During his tenure, Hoffman sales have increased four-fold, their bottom line has increased five-fold and operating margins have improved 11 percentage points.
High Tech is maybe not your first thought about the Car Wash Industry, but Hoffman has designed and installed some of its own car wash components - including an automatic robotic system to conform each wash cycle to the vehicle that comes through the tunnel.
Hoffman operates the top 4 highest volume Jiffy Lubes in the system of 2,000 outlets. It is the most awarded franchisee in the Jiffy Lube system, winning all of their major awards, many more than once. Ron has been recognized by winning all of their individual awards for leadership and contribution to the system.
Hoffman Car Wash and Hoffman Jiffy Lube, while regional in their footprint, act and think like a much larger company. Employing best practices from around the country with regards to social media, the use of technology to grow and manage the business and methods to attract and retain the best people they have an outsized presence in the Capital District.
With 700+ employees in over 30 locations across New York State, Hoffman has evolved from a locally-owned family business into an industry-recognized powerhouse known for innovation, execution, and commitment to its people.
But the real achievement is the Hoffman culture; incorporating a high degree of accountability, trust, and a consensus leadership style.
