We are hosting Amal Dokhan, Amal is a Partner at 500 Startups MENA. Previous to joining 500 Startups, Ms. Dokhan was the CEO of Global entrepreneurship Network GEN Saudi and Managing Director of Babson Global for Entrepreneurial Leadership at Prince Mohammed Bin Salman College.

Amal Dokhan is a seasoned professional with experience in startup investments, corporate innovation, and consulting in the MENA region. Previous to joining 500 Startups, Ms. Dokhan was the CEO of Global entrepreneurship Network GEN Saudi in Partnership with Monshaat, previously she was Managing Director of Babson Global for Entrepreneurial Leadership at Prince Mohammed Bin Salman College. Previously, she was the Manager of Learning and Design at the Entrepreneurship Center at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology KAUST where she led the TAQADAM Acceleration and Corporate Innovation programs besides teaching in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship course offered to master’s and PhD students at the university. Prior to that engagement she worked in the KAUST Seed Fund developing marketing and events, while also providing a range of services to startup clients.

Ms. Dokhan has also been a founder in the sports event space and held a variety of consulting roles for organizations that include the Vision Realization Office in the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia, the World Bank, and the Islamic Development Bank and Dubai Shopping Festival and retail department. She was a program designer and trainer in the Dream Neom program managed by the Boston Consulting Group; a trainer and program designer for the MIT KSA competition; and Partner and Program Designer for the MIT MENA Enterprise Forum. Ms. Dokhan has been an avid advocate for Angel Investing in Saudi Arabia. She has invested in many companies such as Saee, Dukkan Afkar, Wayakit, Faheem, Babel, VETwork and Starzly. She is an advisor in  many institutions and has supported startups in their fundraising and expansion processes, and supported investors to learn about and become more active in the angel investing space.

Ms. Dokhan sits on the board of several organizations such as Wayakit Company, Cranfield University UK, King Abdulaziz University and Nama Ventures. She contributed to a monthly column at Leaders Magazine on Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and has been a speaker at Davos World Economic Forum, TEDx at KAUST, the Annual Conference of the Islamic Development Bank, among others. Ms. Dokhan holds a bachelor’s degree in Education, English Language & Literature from the King Abdul Aziz University, and a Master of Strategic Marketing and Marketing Management from the University of Wollongong. She is also and alumni at MIT Sloan reap program and advanced certificate for executives in management, Innovation and Technology, also completed a course in Berkeley startup Law. Amal also attended VC Unlcoked by 500 Startups and the fellowship of Impact investing.
