Astrid Scholz: Why We Need More Zebras

Tuesday, June 22, 2021, 3:00 – 4:30 PM UTC

Looking for funding but want to do something other than be a unicorn? In 2017, Astrid Scholz, Mara Zepeda, Jennifer Brandel and Aniyia Williams started the “Zebras movement”. A movement that quickly manifested in cities all around the globe with founders who reject the venture capital investment model and support alternative funding methods.

About this event

Hoi Amsterdam!

We are always interested in bringing more information and greateer clarity to startup funding in the Dutch ecosystem, and here is a little free something to start your summer off right!

Zebras Unite is a founder-led co-op that is creating culture, capital, and community for the next economy. Why? Because not only can we not all be unicorns, but also because some of us actually don't want to be. If you are looking for funding alternatives to the typical VC, or you are focused on sustainability, or simply want to know more, join us.

On June 22nd, Veronica Guguian and Lana Jelenjev are launching the Zebras Unite Amsterdam Chapter. What a better way to kick-off the new adventure than inviting Astrid Scholz to share with us:

• The story behind the Zebra Unite
• What is the difference between a unicorn and a zebra
• Answer all the questions you have about the movement and the Zebras Unite Coop

In the last 30 minutes, we will switch gears and we will get to know each other through an Online Networking with a SPIN.

This event is organized by Zebras Unite: Amsterdam Chapter, in collaboration with SPIN Ideas and Startup Grind Amsterdam.
