When you peer into the gutters of any big Nigerian city, a filthy sight awaits you: Floating cans, nylon water sachets, empty bottles and other waste materials discarded by humans, swept there by rain, gathering and clogging up the drain. This is not only a Nigerian problem, it is a global challenge. As the world struggles to manage its waste, our Speaker Olufunto Boroffice, founder/CEO of award winning Chanja Datti Ltd, runs a waste collection & recycling social enterprise dedicated to transforming the waste in her environment to value. She is also a founding member and Vice President of the Recycling Association of Nigeria (RAN), founder of Initiative for the Advancement of Waste Management in Africa (aka W.A.S.T.E Africa), an alumni of the several prestigious local and international programs and sits on several boards. Every year, startup grind hosts our #SGWomen leaders month, proudly recognizing the accomplishment of successful female leaders all over the world. This year, #SGWomen month is proudly presented by Google for Startups and Silicon Valley Bank. In this fireside chat, Ms. Funto Boroffice shares her startup story and inspires entrepreneurs to pursue their vision.
