About this event

The Lean-startup Method teaches the fundamentals of building a successful and sustainable business. In this event, Eng. Simon Okubagiorgis, an Eritrean rising entrepreneur, will explain how to create a business product, make an innovative experimentation and build a successful business using the lean-startup method. This method shows you the key elements and disciplines of entrepreneurial business such as vision, product development, marketing and sales, distribution, financing and managerial disciplines.

The Lean-startup method created by Eric Ries and inspired by the work of Steve Blank, often called one of the godfathers of Silicon Valley, is an innovative method for fostering entrepreneurship in startups and clearly states how today’s entrepreneurs apply continuous innovation to create radically successful startups. The Lean Startup isn’t just about how to create more successful entrepreneurs; it’s about what we can learn from those entrepreneurs to improve virtually everything we do, be it institutional programs, education, health care, and to solving the world’s great problems. It is an answer to the question, ‘How can we learn more quickly what works and discard what doesn’t?’

In this fireside chat, the speaker will present detailed analysis of the Lean-Startup method based on local and global experiences to solve variety of societal problems, with more emphasis on empowering and equipping youth to evaluate their entrepreneurial ideas and initiatives. Mentioned as, ‘The road map for innovation for the twenty-first century,’ by the Stanford University Educators, the Lean-startup method can be applied from individual startup entrepreneurs to corporate entrepreneurs.

This event is also done in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Mainefhi, College of Engineering and Technology as a seminar series under the theme, Entrepreneurship Education for Engineers and Scientists targeted to students and instructors of the Colleges of Engineering and Science, Mainefhi and invited audiences.
