Ariam Weldeab is such an incredible artist of multitude talents. In this Startup Grind Asmara’s fireside chat, we are hosting artist Ariam Weldeab, an Eritrean author, filmmaker, TV host, poet, narrator and performer, who is well known for her creative and narrative skills in the Eritrean community where she received unique appreciation from great Eritrean artists and recognition from around the world. Ariam is an award winning Author and Filmmaker. She has written and directed two creative and impactful films, Yoel Ab Fetene(Joel's hardship) and Yiqre N'men (Forgiveness for Whom). The film Forgiveness for whom, is an award-winning film in Silicon Valley African Film Festival CA 2017, Houston International film festival 2020, and in the African Diaspora International Diaspora Film Festival NYC 2020. It was also the first Eritrean feature film screened at the AMC theatre in Dallas, TX 2019, and received incredibly good feedback from audiences. In our fireside chat, we will discuss all the hustles and efforts required to achieve such a noble recognition.
