About this event

Do you know our emotions have the power to shape most of our actions and activities in life? Have you realized the root of our perceptions and understanding of concepts and great thoughts is our sensation? What if I tell you some people have an incredible skill that drives others sensationally in an artistic context? Creative artists have the potential to create amazing, wonderful and astonishing worlds in our minds. Can you remember a book you have read or a narration you have heard which made lasting imagery memories in your mind? It is also not surprising to change your world temporarily or permanently when you have experienced moments triggered by creative artists. Ariam Weldeab is such an incredible artist of multitude talents.

In this Startup Grind Asmara’s fireside chat, we are hosting artist Ariam Weldeab, an Eritrean author, filmmaker, TV host, poet, narrator and performer, who is well known for her creative and narrative skills in the Eritrean community where she received unique appreciation from great Eritrean artists and recognition from around the world. In this fireside chat event, we will discuss the theme, "Creative Art for Personal and Organizational Transformation," in a greater detail with regards to the artist's personal experiences.

Ariam is an award winning Author and Filmmaker. She has written and directed two creative and impactful films, Yoel Ab Fetene(Joel's hardship) and Yiqre N'men (Forgiveness for Whom). The film Forgiveness for whom, is an award-winning film in Silicon Valley African Film Festival CA 2017, Houston International film festival 2020, and in the African Diaspora International Diaspora Film Festival NYC 2020. It was also the first Eritrean feature film screened at the AMC theatre in Dallas, TX 2019, and received incredibly good feedback from audiences.

In our fireside chat, we will discuss all the hustles and efforts required to achieve such a noble recognition. As a female and young creative writer, what is the secret behind her success in the art industry? How her family and educational background shaped her? What were the opportunities and challenges she encountered in her way to personal and professional transformation? And how big is her vision for the future? Question like these and more will be addressed in our fireside chat. Moreover, questions and discussions will be open for all audiences.
