About this event

George started Skroutz in 2004 as a hobby project, having worked for several years as a freelance professional. Together with Vasilis Dimos they founded and operated Forty Two, a company which constituted the baseline for the technical/programming development of Skroutz.gr. A few years later, Skroutz S.A. has evolved to a 70+ employee strong company, offering bleeding-edge software solutions, currently operating the leading price comparison engine in Greece and the subsidiary Alve.com (sister price comparison website in Turkey). While being the CEO of a dynamically growing company, he manages to be one of the most active developers and the one responsible for the inner workings of the search engine. He’s passionate about Test Driven Development (TDD), rapid prototyping and extreme programming cycles. George holds a degree in electrical and computer engineering from the National Technological University of Athens. He is a father of two, Apollon and Phoebus.
