Nikos Kakavoulis is an internet entrepreneur who specializes in creating unique customer experiences. As the founder of Daily Secret, the popular publisher of email newsletters, he managed product and international expansion while leading the company’s fundraising efforts. The company today has a footprint of 1m+ subscribers in 27 cities and 9 languages. Before that he was founding team member of HealthLeap, a health 2.0 startup that was acquired by Vitals.com in 2011. He’s currently working on a new project.
Nikos’ experience in digital began with Vogue, Glamour, Men’s Health and Condé Nast Traveler magazines. As Head of Digital for the Condé Nast Publisher of SE Europe, he implemented one of the biggest enterprise CMS efforts in Greece. He was a founding team editor of Esquire Magazine and, for three years, the Head of Good Life/Travel for STATUS magazine – the youngest editor to ever assume this position. As an editor he has worked in every part of the content production chain.
Nikos is an awarded digital storyteller and his products have garnered numerous accolades including Fortune’s 40-under-40. He has presented in important tech conferences such as Techcrunch Disrupt and SXSW and his work has been featured in the International Herald Tribune, the Huffington Post, Vogue and other major publications.
Most recently, Nikos was Dewars’ brand ambassador and worked with Google to integrate Daily Secret content into innovative platforms like Google Glass and Fieldtrip. Nikos is a Columbia Business School alum and ambassador and member of the Endeavor Network of Entrepreneurs.
