Alexandros Marinos is the founder and CEO of resin.io which he founded in 2013 to improve the way code is deployed, updated, and maintained on remote Linux connected devices. resin.io is a venture-backed company ($12M from DFJ, Ericsson, General Electric, Openfund and Panos Papadopoulos as angel investor) with customers covering a wide-ranging set of use cases including digital signage, manufacturing, smart buildings and transportation. An experienced programmer and recognized expert on REST, SBVR, relational databases, and enterprise software, Alexandros completed his PhD in Generative Information Systems at the University of Surrey in 2010 in which his research thesis formed the basis for resin.io’s DevOps for IoT platform.

Alexandros worked as a researcher in the University of Surrey while completing his PhD in Computing, focusing on distributed systems and formal modelling. After spinning off his research into a startup, he built a team that focused on helping companies with projects dealing with challenges in architecture for distributed systems. Alexandros worked with several clients, including a digital signage network with hundreds of devices in 5 countries. Out of this experience came resin.io, a platform for code deployment on the Internet of Things.
