We're throwing a summer party for the Auckland Startup Grind community!
Come and mingle, dance, enjoy the sun with drinks, food, previous speakers and special guests, as well as a few giveaways for good measure.
Some of the biggest names we have had in the last 2 years are back to update us on the lessons they have learnt since their talks including Aaron Patzer (founder of Mint that sold to Intuit), Kirsti Grant (founder of Populate and formerly of Vend) and Lillian Grace (founder of Figure.NZ), with more guests to be announced.
This will be a much more relaxed event as we will be taking over the BizDojo space in Parnell, they have a big balcony perfect for summer evenings but a smaller more intimate space so tickets will sell out and spaces are limited.
Get a ticket now and hang out with the startup community and previous Startup Grind speakers.
Aaron Patzer was the Founder and CEO of Mint.com which sold to Intuit for $170m in Nov 2009, then VP & GM of Intuit's Personal Finance Group managing a ~100 person division & $130m in revenue across Mint & Quicken. Mint won a large number of awards, including Time Magazine top 50 websites, 4 consecutive Webby awards in the field of Personal Finance, top personal finance site from Kiplingers, Money Magazine, and PC World. It is widely regarded and discussed for its pixel-perfect design.
Since then Aaron has built and sold other startups, invested in a number of successful tech startups and is now in New Zealand.
Kirsti has 8 years of start-up experience with some of NZ's best success stories like TradeMe & Vend. It was during this time that she encountered a problem with how companies manage their headcount planning and people data.
Kirsti and her team ran a tight process around validating the problem and prototyping a solution and within 8 months had paying customers using their new product, Populate.
