In 2006 Mike founded Sonar6, a revolutionary Human Resources Software as a Service business. Sonar6 rapidly became one New Zealand's hottest tech start-ups, and a darling of the red-hot Bay Area SaaS scene. In 2012 Sonar6 was acquired by Cornerstone OnDemand (NASDAQ: CSOD). 
Mike sits on the boards of VMob (NZE:VML), Promapp and Flossie.com, and is a member of the NZTE Beachheads Advisory board.

Sonar6 won numerous awards including PWC Hi Tech Emerging Company, Deloitte Fast 50, and Gartner Cool Vendor. Mike is also a winner of the Writemark Plain English Award and the Bayer Innovators Award.

Mike originally trained in Artificial Intelligence but ended up spending much of his early career in consumer marketing for global corporations. He has worked in 20 countries. He currently splits his time between New Zealand and California, and is regarded as an expert is Software as a Service business models, and start-up marketing. He sits on the boards of VMob (NZE:VML), Promapp and Flossie.com, and is a member of the NZTE Beachheads Advisory board.
