Steve Piro is the founder and managing director of Synergy Efficiency Solutions (SES). The company was recently recognised in Huffington Post as one of "Bali's 10 Hottest Tech Startups". An advocate for energy efficiency, Steve got his degree from the University of San Diego in Environmental Science and Economics, and travelled around the world before moving to Bali, founding SES as Synergy Carbon in 2008. Since then, Steve has established SES as Asia Pacific's leading energy efficiency company. The company has been the lead consultant for the University of Multimedia Nusantara, which won the 2013 Award for most Energy Efficient Building in Indonesia, and the Indonesian International Expo, the largest Expo Center in South East Asia. It was also behind the Herman Miller Showroom, which has become Indonesia's first LEED Platinum Building. Steve is a leading example of the growing number of entrepreneurs using Bali as the base for growing an International business. He is bringing the financial case for energy efficiency, delivering cost savings by using the latest technology, energy audits, LEED certification and international partnerships including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) who support the financing of energy efficiency solutions. In June 2014 Steve rebranded Synergy Carbon to Synergy Efficiency Solutions (SES) to reflect it's wider scope.
