Join us on Tuesday, February 6th for a Fireside chat and Q&A with Pariwat Wongsamran of Thailand's National Innovation Agency, where he shares with us his journey from a techie (first as a systems engineer with Nokia, then working in information technology, e-business analytics and corporate planning for Nok Airlines) to a technocrat with the NIA, where he helps shape national policy on innovation and technology development and spearheads initiatives to accelerate the evolution of Thailand's nascent startup ecosystem.
The fireside chat will be moderated by Chawisa ("Wendy") Chen, a Project Manager at Thailand Tech Startup Association, the host of Startup Thailand's media show, and team member of Startup Grind Bangkok.

Pariwat Wongsamran is a Project Manager with Thailand's National Innovation Agency (NIA), where he develops innovative projects along with innovative entrepreneurs and large companies in various industries, particularly in Agriculture, Logistics, Education, Information and Communication Technology, Security and Safety, Healthcare and Medical, Designs and Services. He also is a consultant and trainer in developing innovative organization culture according to Total Innovation Management Framework.
Prior to joining NIA in 2010, Khun Pariwat spent several years with Nok Airlines in Information Technology (where he created IT infrastructure plans and implementations for both domestic and international airport sites), E-Business Analysis and Development (where he developed E-Business projects in order to generate new sources of revenues such as flight, hotel, cars and insurance booking engines that were integrated into the existing eCommerce portal site), and Corporate Planning and Performance Management (where he led short term and long term business planning utilizing cutting edge management toolsas Balance Scorecard, Benchmarking, Corporate Performance Management Models, and Sufficiency Economy Philosophy). Khun Pariwat launchyed his technology career with Nokia Thailand, where he was a systems engineer.
Khun Pariwat has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, a graduate diploma in Fashion Technology and Management from Chulalongkorn University, and a Master of Engineering in Information and Communication Technology for Embedded Systems from Tokyo Institute of Technology.
Wendy is a regular fixture on the Thai startup scene, having working on numerous initiatives to enhance and develop the Thai startup ecosystem and foster its entrepreneurial community in her capacity as a Project Manager with the Thailand Tech Startup Association. She also has a measure of celebrity as host of Startup Thailand's television program, covering key issues and interviewing entrepreneurs of interest in the ecosystem. She also lends a great deal of her time volunteering and hosting a variety of conferences, hackathons and meetups, including Startup Grind Bangkok's fireside chats.
Wendy is a graduate of Chulalongkorn University, where she studied International Business.
