She started her career as a Ship Navigator in the Irving Oil group in Canada focused on transporting fuel throughout North Atlantic.

She started her career as a Ship Navigator in the Irving Oil group in Canada focused on transporting fuel throughout North Atlantic. In 2014, she co-founded and became managing partner of the Elizabeth Sloane & Company Limited, business development firm in Kingston, Jamaica. In 2017, she co-founded Jamaica Rural Youth Foundation, providing positive opportunities to Rural Youth of Jamaica. Implementing numerous development initiatives for Rural Youth in Jamaica.
In 2018, Melanie became a Managing Director of Israel Group Limited, a private equity firm.
Melanie has served as chairperson, director and/or observer for 11+ platform companies with revenues of between $5 million and $250 million annually, including Landworks (Landscape Management Company) supplying some of Jamaica's largest hotel services, Elizabeth Sloane & Company Limited (corporate fixers and deal originators) JT Refrigeration Services Limited (HVAC services), Kingstonboats (private boat rental services), Island Networks (Telecommunication services), Bluedot Insight( Marketing Research Company), Muse ( Advertising and Creative Agency), Stocks and Security Venture Capital (Publicly Traded, Venture Capital Company) to name a few.
She is also the founding Partner of the iSpur Accelerator Network in Atlanta. Melanie is a member of World Economic Forum Global Shapers Kingston Hub. She is a holder of an Officer of the Watch ship navigation license, a certified Business Development Expert, and an Advanced Sales Management Certificate and Licentiate Degree in Ship Navigation.
She was born and raised in Jamaica, with a great passion for Business and Youth Development. She considers herself a triple - bottomliner and aims to be an economic Driver in what ever territory she operates.
