The Speaker

Barret Blondeau is a real estate broker and investor from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After climbing the corporate ladder at a Fortune 500 company, Barret realized that he needed to take his life and income into his own hands. He became a full-time real estate agent, and when he became eligible to become a real estate broker, he took the opportunity to start his own brokerage: Cottonwood Realty.

At this time, Barret began to recognize that access to information online had allowed consumers to receive a deeper understanding of the real estate market and what it takes to sell a home. After talking with his clients, he also noticed that they were willing to take on more responsibility in order to save money on their realtor commissions—and that realization led him to create Falaya®, an online platform that allows people to take much of the home-selling process into their own hands while at the same time offering significantly cheaper options for selling homes.
