Join our next event on Saturday, February 23rd to learn about Blockchain's next evolution and what is needed to make DApps (blockchain decentralized apps) go mainstream.

We will cover the following key topics:

1. Learn about the innovative Silicon Valley project NEAR protocol

2. The next evolution of blockchain protocols. How decentralised apps can be developed by and adopted by the mainstream and capture a significant market share

3. Learn from Illia about building an outstanding tech team and new standard setting blockchain protocol

4. Q&A & discussion how the Silicon Valley based projects enter the Chinese market

Language: The event is held in English

活动语言: 活动语言为英语

The Speakers

Illia Polosukhin

Co-founder of NEAR Protocol

Illia Polosukhin is a co-founder of NEAR Protocol, a decentralized applications platform powered by scalable and developer friendly blockchain. Near is a team of Ex-Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and MemSQL Engineers who have shipped some of the only at-scale implementations of distributed sharded systems in the world. Previously Illia was Engineering Manager and Researcher at Google Research, where he led a Deep Learning team working on Natural Language Understanding and TensorFlow.

NEAR is a blockchain protocol designed to bridge the adoption gap for mainstream commercial DApps. With NEAR, you can build a blockchain application within minutes, and you will have a better development experience due to tooling (IDE) & use of modern languages like WASM, Typescript, and Rust. NEAR has completely re-imagined how end-user usability will be done, which will tremendously help with user acquisition, which developers care a lot about. To build it, we have assembled a dream team of engineers who implemented sharded distributed systems at scale including 3 early MemSQL engineers, 4 ex-Googlers, 4 gold medals at ACM ICPC and more.

Honglei Cong

Senior Blockchain Expert

Cong studied computer science at Tsinghua University and is a professional in distributed systems and decentralized consensus algorithm design. He previously worked on distributed network protocols and distributed storage systems at Cisco and EMC, and later moved onto blockchain architecture design for large business groups. Cong excels in a range of blockchain structures and protocols, and participated in building the biggest alliance chain (between Union Pay, JD, CMB, and Wanda Group) in China. His work experience also includes crypto exchanges, supply chain, digital contracts, attestation, and other blockchain applications. He played a key role in Linux Foundation’s Hyperledger project and is certified as a blockchain performance assessment professional by China Electronics Standardization Institute. He also led a team and won second place in Hyperledger’s Asia Hackathon.

Ontology provides new high-performance public blockchains that include a series of complete distributed ledgers and smart contract systems.

Ontology blockchain framework supports public blockchain systems and is able to customize different public blockchains for different applications. Ontology supports collaboration amongst chain networks with its various protocol groups.

Ontology will constantly provide common modules on the underlying infrastructure for different kinds of distributed scenarios, such as those for the distributed digital identity framework, distributed data exchange protocol, and so on. Based on specific scenario requirements, Ontology will continue to develop new common modules.

Ontology uses a dual token (ONT and ONG) model. At first, ONT is a NEP-5 token and does not release ONG. After the launch of Ontology's MainNet, users will be able to exchange NEP-5 ONT for ONT on the Ontology MainNet, which will start to release ONG periodically.
