Born to a family of Sierra Leonean creators and innovators, Miatta Momoh is the co-founder of Kente & Silk with over 10 years of business experience in advertising operations, client services, event management, publishing, print & online marketing across the US, UK, Africa and APAC.
As an MBA graduate, from one of the world’s leading business schools – Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management, she uses clear business objectives, data-driven insights, and strong personable skills to bridge gaps in Africa-China relations. This makes her an influencer and connector in one of the most important geopolitical relationships in the world.
As well as driving business partnerships for Kente & Silk, she has also managed business development and marketing for other start-ups and large enterprises, like developing cross-cultural business opportunities and content strategies for iQiyi.com and JD.COM.
Sheyi is the Chapter Director of Startup Grind Beihang University in Beijing. He is also the editor of Startup Grind Greater China video and production team.
As a Chapter director and Editor, he promotes entrepreneurship and innovation within Beijing startup ecosystem through events, workshops, and the entrepreneur spotlight video series where founders and key players within China startup ecosystem are featured.
Sheyi is also an aeronautics engineering graduate. He is currently a UAV designer and computational fluid dynamics engineer at Airforce Institute of Technology in Kaduna, NIgeria.
Jilles Djon is the Director of Operations at the African Chamber of Commerce in China (AFCHAM). AFCHAM is currently boating 540 members in China and abroad and covering 37 African Countries.
As a Chief Investment officer, he is currently promoting the industrialization of the manufacturing and agro processing industry in Africa in partnership with government's promotion and investment agencies. Over the past 3 years, he has accompanied international companies relocating to Africa 's Free trade zones (Ethiopia, Uganda, Cameroon, South Africa, Ivory Coast).
Jilles Djon is currently raising funds to provide affordable housing units in Kenya , Ivory Coast and Cameroon.
Jilles Djon has a Master Degree in International Negotiation and Strategies from Paris Sorbonne and an MBA in International Business from ISEE Paris Business School.
Startup Grind Beijing
Born and raised in Indonesia, Madeleine moved to Beijing in 2013 to pursue her bachelor's degree in Marketing and master's degree in Customs Administration. Today, She's serving as the co-director for Startup Grind Beijing. She is also involved in the Startup Grind Greater China's S-W-A-T team as Head of Marketing. While working as Marketing and Business Development for Influence Matters - a strategic PR and Marketing consultancy helping international B2B tech startups, scale-ups and SMBs succeed in China.
Madeleine is passionate for marketing, design and content development. Some of her work includes “Entrepreneur Spotlight” series for Startup Grind Beijing and Startup Grind Greater China - where she interviews entrepreneurs from Beijing and China community. She is also the mastermind behind “8 Questions” where she interviews directors and co-directors of Startup Grind Greater China region.
