Dr Charles Immanuel Akhimien is a medical doctor, entrepreneur and innovator. He is the Co-founder of MOBicure, a social enterprise providing mobile technology solutions in healthcare for Nigeria and the rest of Africa. MOBicure’s two solutions, the myPaddi & OMOMI apps have provided over 60,000 people with life-saving health information while connecting them with medical personnel in real-time.

Dr Charles is highly regarded worldwide as a thought leader in the digital health space and has garnered several international accolades. He was recently recognized by the WHO as one of the TOP 30 Health Innovators in Africa. Dr Charles is a UN SDG Young Leader, a 2017 UN Global Compact SDG Pioneer and a Mandela Washington Fellow.

He is also a One Young World Ambassador and a JCI Nigeria Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) Awards Honoree for 2018. Furthermore, Dr Charles is a 2017 Commonwealth Youth Award finalist, a Yunus & Youth Fellow, as well as a grant awardee of the U.S. African Development Foundation (USADF).

He was also named on the Real Leaders 100 list of 2018 alongside global icons such as Nobel Laureate Prof Muhammad Yunus, Emma Watson, and Bill & Melinda Gates.

He bagged his medical degree from the University of Benin.
