Speaker Bio: Uwem is the Director of Fund Operations at Ingressive Capital, a venture capital firm focused on funding the next generation of African innovators across Africa and has been focusing on building Entrepreneurship ecosystems that empower Entrepreneurs to be the best they can be. Prior to this, he served as the Entrepreneurship Programme Manager, and the founding team of the largest Pan-African Entrepreneurship Programme, a $100 million initiative – The Tony Elumelu Foundation, which he led for 5 years and surpassed the 10-year goal of training, mentoring and funding 10,000 entrepreneurs. Uwem has affiliations to reputable organisations like Startup Grind, SXSW Pitch, Startupbootcamp Africa, Africa Entrepreneurship Awards, Global Startup Ecosystem and Injinni (Africa’s first edtech incubator). He believes entrepreneurship is key to a country’s development and as such invests his time and resources in initiatives that help an Entrepreneur grow.
