Once upon a time, there was a young 9 years old boy Called "Zhang". Zhang was incredibly smart, yet he had difficulties to memorize things he had learned. No matter how hard he tried, he just could not remember the planets of the solar system. It just did not stick in his head. One day his teacher told him a story about all the planets. A story about how the sun was lonely and Mercury was his first friend. How Mercury fell madly in love with Venus and how Planet Earth got jealous. After telling him the story, Zhang was able to remember all of the planets in the right order. Why? Because of the magic of storytelling. Zhang could remember the story and with that, he could remember the planets.
On the 17th November, our speaker Steve Richards will share his story with us, how he became an experienced storytelling teacher and at the end we'll have a small storytelling workshop where he'll teach us his best techniques we can easily apply to communicate better with others. Steve was President of Mofilm, a video crowdsourcing platform, looking after Shell, Nestle, Arla Foods & Volvic amongst their global clients, before running the sale of the company to You & Mr Jones. He runs his own consultancy Unlimited Brand Stories – working with Start Ups, growing businesses and creative agencies. His focus is now on helping smaller businesses & leaders learn from his experiences and tools to grow, that they would not normally be able to access. Steve has spoken at Marketing Innovation and Design conferences in Brazil, UK & Abu Dhabi.
