StartupGrind Boston presents a panel discussion with some of our favorite local VCs:
Ziad Moukheiber: Managing Partner of EQx Fund & CEO of Boston Harbor Angels; Ziad H. Moukheiber serves as Managing Partner for the EQx Fund. He is the CEO of the renowkned Boston Harbor Angels organization, which has boasted a series of successful exits and is recognized as one of the top Angel Groups in the country. Ziad maintains an Angel portfolio of his own, concentrated in early stage technology and life science opportunities. Prior to his current roles, he founded and ran an IT consulting firm, Silversword, which was acquired by NSK Inc. in 2015.
Lex Zhao: Senior Associate at One Way Ventures;Lex is an immigrant from China and previously led the operations team at Vestwell, a venture-backed fintech startup. Prior to Vestwell, Lex earned his MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. At Chicago Booth, he was as an Associate at Moderne Ventures and took part in the New Venture Challenge accelerator program. Lex started his career at Bridgewater Associates, the world’s largest hedge fund, and NERA Economic Consulting, a leading economic consultancy. Lex graduated from Cornell University where he earned his B.A. in Economics with Distinction.
Rob McCall: Associate at .406 Ventures. Rob McCall is a former operator turned investor. He joined the investment team at .406 Ventures in 2015, where he focuses on evaluating new opportunities in innovative high-tech companies and still gets his hands dirty working on various projects within the portfolio. .406 Ventures is a Boston-based VC firm providing early-stage capital to East Coast entrepreneurs solving big-problems with new technology. While fascinated by just about every type of tech, at .406 Rob focuses primarily on cybersecurity, digital health, data/analytics, and cloud infrastructure. Prior to switching to the dark side of investing, Rob worked building out the go-to-market efforts at MineralTree (a .406 portfolio company) and was an account executive at EMC. Rob grew up right outside of Boston and received his BA in Psychology from Duke University, with minors in Economics as well as Environmental Science and Policy.
