As student entrepreneurs, Brandon and Blake Shirk began the launch of their boutique social hotel concept by conducting research into event-oriented accommodations for digital nomads. The twin Finance graduates of Mays Business School later collaborated with former members of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization at Texas A&M University who had graduated from Mays to become successful investors in New York and Dallas. On Oct. 29, 2020, SOVA Hospitality was launched. The renovated property in Deep Ellum was formally opened in 0ct. 2021. Brandon and Blake raised the funding, sourced materials internationally and completed construction during a global pandemic with worldwide supply chain issues.
