Liam Christie and Bob McKenzie Co-founded MetroNet Communications, a national telecommunications company that they went on to sell to AT&T for $7 billion in 1999 standing as the 2nd largest domestic merger in Canada. Liam Christie began his business career with a stellar track record in sales and management with Xerox of Canada, then a number of entrepreneurial ventures gave him a true taste for the ups and downs of business. Success at Unisys eventually led to pioneering in telecommunications when local access lines were deregulated in the mid to late 90’s. As the second employee in this high-tech start-up, the company grew to 4,000 employees and ultimately sold to AT&T for $7 billion. Strategic thinking out of the box and focus on execution are some of the many skills that Liam offers to TEC members. Bob McKenzie is a partner at Northridge Canada Inc and president of RSM Investments Ltd. Previously he was co founder and builder of MetroNet Communications , a national telecommunications company sold to ATT Corp in a multi-billion dollar transaction in 1999. Prior to that he was a principal for 10 years in the Northridge group of energy trading and marketing companies which was acquired by TransCanada Corp in 1994. Bob, a chartered Accountant, is or has been an investor, board member or advisor to a number of private and public companies.
