Startup Grind Calgary is proud to present Patrick Lor on April 19th. Pat helped pioneer the microstock industry as a Co-Founder of iStockPhoto in the early 2000's before selling it to Getty for US$50 million in 2006. Later he was a co-founder of Dissolve and was the head of North American operations for Fotolia, two companies also involved in providing stock footage for commercial use. Yet he is perhaps best known for his work in growing the Canadian startup ecosystem as an investor and mentor. He is a Managing Partner at both Panache Venutres and 500 Startups, two venture funds focused on early stage ventures.
We will also be featuring Product Hunt, a website that lets users share and discover new products. Users submit products which are listed in a linear format by day. The site includes a comments system and a voting system similar to Hacker News or Reddit. The products with the most votes rise to the top of each day's list. Products are organized into four categories; technology products, games , books and podcasts.
Join us for cocktails/hors d'oeuvres, community and these exciting premier fireside chats.
