This virtual event will feature Trevor Koverko, founder of the blockchain company Polymath, who raised $59 million to makes it easy to create, issue, and manage tokens on the blockchain. This event is done in partnership with the Founder Institute (FI) and will also feature Nicole Sanchez, a soon-to-be graduate of the current FI cohort and Todd Embley, a Director for Western Canada at FI. About Trevor Koverko Trevor is a blockchain founder and investor Trevor became an early leader in the blockchain community - helping finance projects like Ethereum, EOS, Hashgraph and Shapeshift. In 2017, after predicting the mega-trend of financial securities migrating to the blockchain, Trevor founded his 3rd company: Polymath - a leading security token platform. Polymath was founded after Trevor attempted to 'tokenize' his PE fund and experienced first hand how painful it was to launch a compliant security token. Prior to Polymath, Trevor’s Oculus Rift-based project became one of the world's first VR exits. Trevor is also the co founder of Digital Assets International, a private equity fund that acquires high margin/cashflow online businesses. Trevor was also an NHL draft pick of the New York Rangers! About Nicole Sanchez Nicole is one of Hempact’s Co-Founders and serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Working alongside a few different not-for-profits that empower women and youth, Hempact is creating menstrual pads that are sustainable and disposable using hemp and biodegradable plastics. Nicole is also part of the current Founder Institute Western Canada cohort, the biggest pre-seed start-up accelerator in the world to help gain valuable skills and more knowledge in the world of entrepreneurship. About Todd Embley and the Founder Institute Todd is the Senior Startup Advocate for Agora.io. He is also Co-Director of Founder Institute Western Canada, and the Executive Producer + Host of The Negotiation, a podcast that interviews experts in cross-border expansion for brands looking to enter the Chinese market. Todd is a serial entrepreneur who is well versed in VC, startups, community building and mentor programming at a global level. He also spent 8 years in China; first as an entrepreneur before joining SOSV’s Chinaccelerator where he was Program Director for 4.5 years.
