Dave is a born and bred Capetonian with 14 years experience in payments working in Australia, Europe and South Africa. He co-founded Electrum, a transaction processing software company, in 2012 which has now grown to 20 staff. His interests are reading and outdoor sports. Electrum customers include 2 of the 3 biggest retailers in Africa, the 3rd largest retail Bank in South Africa and the largest drugstore chain in South Africa. Electrum will process over 2 billion transactions in 2016.

It forms part of a series of global events called Rise to the Challenge exploring the technology areas that are shaping the future of the financial industry. For this event, Start-up grind will hold a fireside chat on the ‘Future of Banking’.

Rise to the Challenge aims to shake the current thinking and identify the opportunities and challenges that banks and startups face. Conversations will critically assess where to steer the future focus of investing in Fintech.
