Join Startup Grind Cape Town as we have our year end party as well as host Llew Claasen.


Llew Claasen is Executive Director of the Bitcoin foundation and co-founder of Newton Partners. The Bitcoin Foundation is the largest and oldest Bitcoin advocacy global organization. The Bitcoin Foundation, which is headquartered in San Francisco, brings together members of Bitcoin to raise awareness around the benefits of the crypto currency giant.


Llew is the Managing Partner of Cape Town based venture capital firm Newton Partners which invests in tech startups in African and the US. Newtown Partners recently invested in Wala Wala, a Cape Town-based blockchain-enabled fintech platform. Newton Partners also invested in SweepSouth an online platform for cleaning services that was accepted into Silicon Valley’s reputable program 500 Startups and also in SAFlorist, an online florist platform that has been ranked one of the top 25 innovative companies by Fast Company Magazine in 2015.
