Antoinette Prophy is the founder & managing director of 88 Business Collective - an accelerator for emerging women entrepreneurs. Antoinette recently got all 88 Business Collective entrepreneurs who pitched on demo day funded which is a rare achievement. 88 Business Collective has secured funding support of more than R2 million from various organisations. An entrepreneur with a passion for transforming the way business is done in Africa, Antoinette has over 15 years of corporate experience. She worked for McKinsey & Company which she left in 2003 to start her first business, Afrofusion Advertising. She’s worked on high-level projects including the award winning Indalo Yethu National Environmental Campaign with the tagline Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. In 2009, she acquired another agency and led the company’s expansion programme to Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria. A true creative trailblazer, Antoinette Prophy has been featured on CNBC Africa, KayaFM, Cliff Central and SAFM and has won the MultiChoice VUKA! Award for her groundbreaking work. She has also received numerous honors including the prestigious Golden Key member at Wits University, an award whose other recipients include Trevor Manuel and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Antoinette serves on the Silicon Cape Community Council and enjoys mentoring young entrepreneurs.
