#SGWomen: Empowering Women in Entrepreneurship in an Unfavorable Racial Landscape

Tuesday, June 30, 2020, 6:30 – 7:45 PM UTC

Join us in a fireside chat with Stephanie Barneburg of Sparkle Freshness as she shares her journey of Entrepreneurship as a black woman. We'll be getting her insight, wisdom, and experience on navigating this racial landscape for success, as well as learn the challenges and overcomings that black women experience in growing a business. Now more than ever, voices like Stephanie's need to be heard.

About this event

Extreme circumstances have pushed difficult and needed conversations around Race to the forefront. In honor of SG Women, we'll be highlighting a successful black business owner, Stephanie Barneburg, to share her experience in growing a business. Stephanie was recently featured covering much of this topic on a black business panel for the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, called "The Black Experience." Many in attendance were in demand for a part 2, so we decided to elevate this talk by giving a platform to a strong local woman of color to educate and enlighten us.

Many challenges come with starting a business, and a separate set of challenges arise with being a woman, and a black woman at that. We hope you'll join us for this amazing talk to be educated, informed, and take action to make a difference in the lives of many women of color.

This event is FREE, but we hope you'll support SG Women and SG Carlsbad by purchasing a $5 ticket to help us continue to operate Startup Grind Carlsbad, which is also currently run by a Black Business Woman, and has featured other women of color and diverse speakers in previous events.

Thank you again for your support!
