Jason left his full-time job in 2012 to start his beef jerky company after seeing his homemade desk drawer snack gain more and more traction among his co-workers as their jerky orders increased over the years. While The New Primal isn't Jason's first company, this was his first time venturing into the food retail industry and there were plenty of lessons to learn.
He realized that in order for his company to move forward in this vertical, he needed to raise some money and figure how how to scale operations. By 2015, The New Primal reached $1 million in sales and later on expanded their product offerings beyond beef jerky.
Today, The New Primal is the number one selling BBQ sauce, meat sauce and marinade and number two selling meat snack in Whole Foods, with over 30 products available on shelves across the nation.
