March 7, 2018, 11:00 PM UTC – March 8, 2018, 2:00 AM UTC

Startup Grind Charlotte hosts Coy Pittman, Founder and CEO of social streaming site Disco Melee. From growing up in a rural farming community to selling his first venture for a 50X return to taking on the tech giants of eSports, this is a compelling and improbable story of entrepreneurship that you don't want to miss.

About this event

Would you do whatever it takes to be a successful entrepreneur? Would you sleep on couches, eat ramen or canned beans, and do everything you could to make your dream a reality? Coy Pittman did just that, by investing every penny he had into his first startup. He managed to take on the biggest names in the recording industry and come out on top. In just two years he sold his business for more than 50 times his initial investment. Now he’s taken that hunger and drive into the gaming world.

As a young man, Coy helped his father develop strategies to exponentially grow the family business. Over the last twenty years, he has launched and grown several unique businesses, going on to found his current venture, the social streaming site, Disco Melee. He saw the amazing potential of the esports and streaming world and created an original product to help all gamers stay connected across all platforms. In today’s digital age, the ability to interact and communicate across platforms is a necessity for many gamers. In a display of market foresight, Disco Melee has positioned itself perfectly to capitalize on the social gaming boom. Come listen to this amazing serial entrepreneur talk about life on the cutting edge of both technology and business.

PARKING

Parking Garages:

If you are driving, the easiest place to park is the Bank of America Plaza Parking Garage (Mapquest address: 180 S College Street). If that lot is full, I would recommend parking at the BB&T Parking Garage (200 S College St, Charlotte, NC 28202).

Valet Parking:

The Omni Hotel (132 E. Trade Street, Charlotte, North Carolina, 28202) also has very affordable daily valet parking rates: $10.00 for less than 4 hours (inclusive of tax) no in-and-out privileges, $24.00 for more than 4 hours (inclusive of tax) no in-and-out privileges.

Ride Sharing / Cabs:

Uber and Lyft are always great options for curbside service. Uber also has a service called UberEvents, which allows you to set up a promo code for your guests in which you pay for part of or their full trip.

Public Transportation/Lynx:

We are 1 block away from the Epicentre Lynx Stop (stop name: CTC Station) and are connected by the Skywalk or Overstreet Mall.

Street Parking:

Lastly, there is street parking available throughout uptown.
