She is the co-founder and CEO of the famous fitness tracking app Endomondo. Mette has taken a very different path than our recent guests to her first, only and dare we say, quite successful startup. While taking a master in political science from Aarhus University, she worked at one of Denmarks major newspapers Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten as a researcher and journalist. After finishing university, Mette was recruited by McKinsey & Company, and in 2007, around two years into life as a management consultant, she co-founded Endomondo with Christian Birk and Jakob Jønck.
She’s gotten several awards and accolades in her still short life as an entrepreneur. She won the Founder of the Year 2012 Nordic Startup Award and got the Female Business Owner’s Inspirational Award in 2013.
Sportswise apart from running a successful startup she used to be a competitive horseback rider and recently, perhaps unsurprisingly, she’s been into fitness when not spending spare time with her friends and family, which includes a 2-year old daughter.
