Nisha Ligon is a Thai-American entrepreneur living in Tanzania. She is the co-founder and managing director of Ubongo, a social enterprise that creates fun, localized edutainment for learners in Africa.

Nisha Ligon is a Thai-American entrepreneur living in Tanzania. She is the co-founder and managing director of Ubongo, a social enterprise that creates fun, localized edutainment for learners in Africa. Through Ubongo, Nisha together with her multi-talented team produce video, audio and interactive learning materials that is distributed through television, radio, web, mobile and local delivery partners. One of their most popular media products is Ubongo kids, an interactive cartoon series which teaches math through fun local stories on television stations in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi. The cartoon which is in English and Swahili helps children between the ages of 7 and 12 understand the concepts as opposed to memorizing them. Nisha is also working on another edutainment show called Akili that targets kids between 3 and 7 years of age.
