Hadija Jabiri is the managing director of GBRI Business Solutions. Ms. Jabiri is a farmer committed to making agricultural production a sustainable and profitable business through empowering smallholder farmers by adapting to global best practices of horticultural value chains. GBRI is a horticultural company that specialises in growing vegetables (French beans, snow peas, sugar snap and baby corn) for both local and international markets. Currently GBRI Business Solutions exports to countries like Ireland and the United Kingdom. GBRI business solutions employs 44 permanent employees with over 200 temporary workers every week. 80% of them being women. In a bid to help the community around her Ms. Jabir works with more than 270 farmers. A group of out growers (small scale holder farmers) in Iringa rural, Mufindi, Kilolo in the Iringa region. The company provides agronomic support to the farmers and teaches them how to grow produce to international standards. This is aimed at improving business economics and profitability across the supply chain.
