Khalid is a mission driven entrepreneur who has accumulated well-rounded experience in building and running startups. In 2011, Khalid established ibTECHar Digital Solutions focusing on educational technologies development servicing the education sector. He bootstrapped ibTECHar and ran it as the CEO before becoming the Chairman of the company in 2014. Through out ibTECHar’s journey, Khalid was award the entrepreneur of the year prize in 2011 and ibTECHar was the first company to be incubated in the DIC (Digital Incubation Center).
Else Labs Inc is the second startup that Khalid started following his win in Stars of Science regional competition as the first Qatari to be crowned as the winner in the history of the initiative in 2012. Else is a hardware tech startup building a smart cooking platform based on a novel electro-mechanical design combined with software and data. Today, Else employs 14 full-time employees, and has presence in Qatar, Canada, and the United States. To date, Khalid was able to raise more than US $4M in financing for the venture, and has done business in Qatar, Canada, the United States, and China.
In the past 10 years, Khalid’s journey allowed him to build a well-rounded experience in building companies. It spans financing, product development, prototyping, manufacturing, patenting, and team building spanning multiple jurisdictions. Khalid holds a bachelor degree in Computer Engineering with Engineering Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Ottawa.
