Souqalmal.com, the Dubai-based financial comparison site led by Ambareen Musa, is set for a quantum leap, after securing 1.2 million USD from Hummingbird Ventures, the Antwerp-based venture capital that has previously invested in MarkaVIP, CicekSepeti, and Peak Games. Today, Souqalmal.com simplifies search for users in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, allowing them to compare and review a range of financial products, including credit cards, loans, cars, schools, insurance, and broadband, on a simple interface. Interested consumers can request a callback from a bank or vendor at a time of their choice, rather than wait on hold.
Originally from Mauritius, Ambareen Musa holds an undergraduate business degree from RMIT university in Melbourne, Australia. She started her first online business, an online property portal for international students in Australia, at the age of 21. Moving to London in 2004 to work for GE’s financial arm, GE Money, Musa held various roles in marketing, financial literacy, customer

Musa holds an MBA from INSEAD and is the co-author of Entrepreneurial Opportunities On The Internet.
