About Aimée-Louise: After attempting suicide in late 2017, Aimée-Louise Carton identified a gap in the market for a wellness app that empowered people with a variety of tools other than meditation. She met her co-founder, Will Ben Sims during their postgraduate studies in Trinity College Dublin. They started working full time in June 2019. Will Ben Sims is a competitive rugby player who saw the impact of mental illness early in his life with a tragedy in his family. He committed himself to combating low mental health through holistic physical health and wellness. Together, they have created KeepAppy with the help of some extraordinary people along the way. About KeepAppy: A social enterprise, KeepAppy is on a mission to make mental health care accessible for everyone Mental illness affects 1 in 4 people around the globe. But just like physical health, we all have mental health and yet 74% of people they have interviewed, spoken to and surveyed struggle to know how to maintain or manage their mood on a daily basis. Which is why they decided to create the gym for your mental health! KeepAppy offers users a wide variety of features that act as equipment. You don’t have to use all of them, just the ones that work the best for you. Mental health care is disproportionally harder to access when faced with adversity, which is why their mission is to make their tools and features accessible for all.
