Eric Kimwatan is an IT graduate from Strathmore University (BBIT). Entrepreneur and the founder of Farming Afrika a farmer, and also an agri – contractor (www.farmingafrika.com) Farming Afrika is an online platform that educates guides and entices farmers especially the youth to venture into farming. The stories on the blog are written by practicing farmers who share practical solutions for local problems. Farming Afrika won Best agricultural/environmental blog 2014 In the Kenya blog awards and was again nominated in 2015. The blog has over 5000 subscribed farmers and over 20000 monthly readers. Hundreds of these subscribers have been assisted by getting links to consultants and trainings. Eric has conducted experiments on new technologies such as minimum tillage and other conservation farming techniques the results of which, he has shared with farmers. All these he does with the aim of bringing farming to the digital age through building something for all types of farmers, small medium and large scale farmers in a bid to make farming great again.
