Titus Gebel ( Free Private Cities)

Wednesday, May 22, 2019, 4:30 – 7:00 PM UTC

Current national states and authorities are a thing of the past: the Free Private City project could revolutionise human coexistence. A Free Private City is not a utopia, but rather a business idea whose functional elements are already known and which need only be transferred to another sector: that of living together!

About this event

Imagine a private company offers you the basic services of a state, i.e. protection of life, liberty and property in a defined territory. You pay a fixed amount for those services per year. Your respective rights and duties are laid down in a written “citizen’s contract” between you and the provider.

For everything else, you do what you want. Thus, you are a contracting party on an equal footing with a secured legal position, instead of subject to the government’s or majority’s ever changing will. And you only become a part of it if you like the offer.

"The superstructure of voluntary association in Free Private Cities allows many different systems to flourish. Given voluntary participation, everything is possible. What we are offering in Free Private Cities is basically a framework for a spontaneous order to be created: the citizen decides for himself" says Titus Gebel, who will outline the concept and talk about the first steps towards its realisation.
